you are the only exception

It wasn't so much the letting go that was hard, you know.
It was much, much worse when you grew weary of blocking everything out and before you knew it, BAM, it swings back on the rebound and smacks you hard in the face giving you whiplash, and then every wall you built to keep your heart safe tumble down and in the end, no one else is hurt except you. Just as before.

Why do we build secret shrines in our heart for the people who aren't making an effort to be in there?

  1. its not the whiplash, letting go, or anything that is making anything difficult. don't think it, don't remember it, don't talk about, don't think, don't go close to. and you will never hurt again. any other way will lead you back where you came. a shrine is built for someone who deserves to be there, not someone you think deserves to be there, and until you tear that secret shrine down, forever and ever burnt to the ground, people that don't worship you like you do will always come back to haunt you, whether you like it or not, be them there or in your thoughts. build a shrine for nick jonas and jesse eisenberg, but not him, forget him. the only part he deserves is your toenail, and its getting so you better cut that fucker off soon. take care my friend
